Marine Science Station

Today, I was able to go with one of the 7th grade science classes on their field trip to the Marine Science Station in Crystal River. I just got back, and after a long night at work yesterday and the trip today... I'm shot!!! It was so much fun though! We went snorkeling in the Gulf of Mexico at a location known as Gomez's Rocks. Saw a lot of cool things like sea stars, schools of fish, coral, snails, oysters, and sponges (ewww)! On the boat ride back we even saw dolphins! There was also an observation deck that we were able to climb. Anyway it was a great trip, the students had fun, were well behaved, and happy that I was able to join them! One field trip down and one to go.... Busch Gardens next Friday!!! Here are some pics....

Shell island... Made completely of oyster shells...

Kindness Week

I'm getting ready for Kindness Week next week at work! I will be spending the rest of this week doing all of the finishing touches. I can't wait to see how it turns out....I'm hopeful that it will go well and the students will be very involved! Can we turn IMS into a "Kindness Zone"? I think so! Spent the night working on this flyer...

New Bikes

Today was such a fun filled productive day! We got an early start and went scouting around for bicycles. After numerous stops at Village cycles, Target and 2 walmarts....we settled on his and hers purple and blue Schwinns! Had a blast riding them around stores, felt like I was 9! Here is Stephen trying his out....
The original plan was to head north to Santo's bike trail just about 20 minutes from us. However, taking brand new bikes out into the wilderness for the first time after neither of us had ridden in a while didn't seem too smart! Suddenly it dawned on us that we have miles and MILES of beautiful bike trails throughout the villages practically in our own backyard. So we set out on a 10 mile bike ride starting out at Lake Sumter landing and working our way South through several villages, country clubs, and even got to see where all the new houses are being built. Good times! Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a ton of pictures of our excursion!

This is in front of one of the many tunnels for golf carts...

This is a funky bird we just had to stop and take pics of...

I want to go for another ride tomorrow morning, maybe to Spanish Springs for some Starbucks or Panera breakfast....but my butt is KILLING me...and I'm pretty sure poor Stephen is hurting too! So we'll see! Right now we just finished up a late dinner (Chicken Cacciotore, yummm) and we are watching Avatar...greatest movie EVER! I hope I make it all the way through though, I am exhausted! I think I am going to sleep like a baby tonight!!!

Acorn Hollow with the SKO's

During our trip to NY we were able to spend a WONDERFUL day with Stephens family at his parents Bed and Breakfast in Southold. Click here to check it out!

I love the north fork of Long Island, it is so beautiful, and the ride is so pretty and peaceful (even when it's cloudy)! Mom Sko had saved us some Polish Easter breakfast which was DEEEEELISH, especially the homemade pierogies that Stephen's family whipped up from SCRATCH! It was so great to see everyone! The kids are awesome and it is amazing how quickly they are growing up! They are so much fun, and very entertaining to spend time with. Wish we could pack them in our suitcase and smuggle them home with us! Mom Sko even took me on a tour of Southold...I got to see the sights, including Helen Keller's abandoned summer home...VERY cool! Here are a few pics of Jake and Ryan!
