Pete's 21!

I almost forgot to put this up! Peter turned 21 last week.....HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! I can't believe it....he will still always be that scrawny little boy who used to call me "Sissy"...

Anywho....here is the card that I made him.... I thought it came out pretty cute...I made another similar one for Stephens nephew but I don't have a picture of that one...oh well...here it is...

ACOT

Real quick...
Even though I post most of my layouts up here...I'm still going to put a link to my gallery on A Cherry on Top here...

And just for the hell of it... here is a link for my wishlist as well! :)

Weekend Crop

Ok so this weekend there was a crop on A Cherry On Top (ACOT)...I tried to participate as much as I could but it was a pretty jam packed weekend. Friday we went out with some people from Stephens off roading club.....we went to Buffalo Wild Wings it was yummy! The only thing i regret was attempting to eat a "blazin" wing.....it was so hot my mouth hurt for like 20 minutes!! (NEVER AGAIN!) After a few minutes I turned to everyone and asked "Does anyone else taste blood?" Yea so that was an experience! On Saturday I worked, and then afterwards we went to Stephens nephew Evan's 3rd birthday party...so CuTe!!! There were so many adorable kids there it was crazy! What a cute family! So when we got home I started to participate in some of the online games and challenges. I played bingo 3 times, but only came close to winning once. The first challenge i did was where we had to create a party themed layout. So I used the pictures from when I was opening the digital frame that Stephen gave me. Notice the ladybug wrapping paper!! Anyway I also used the new Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste paper that I got in the mail on Friday!! So pretty I think! Here is how the layout came out....
The next challenge I was able to complete was where I had to use the number 2, black and white, and 2 photos in a layout. I used the title "It Had 2 Be You" because that is me and Stephens song. The 2 photos are 2 of my absolute FAVORITES from the day we went off-roading on the beach (the day after thanksgiving). I was pretty happy how the layout came out especially considering how I threw it together at the last minute! I ended up not using the colors black and white but I hope that the fact that the photos are b&w are okay. So here is the layout....

The next challenge I did was a "Presidents Day" challenge.... we had to use something on our layout that represents each letter in the word "PRESIDENT"
Here is what I pulled together:
P - Patterned Paper
R - Ribbon (or rock)
E - Eyelets
S - Stamp
I - Ink
D - Diamonds
E - Envelope
N - Navy Blue
T - Torn paper
There is a little piece of paper inside the envelope with journaling on it that says "What a wonderful, magical day with Peter, Jennifer, and Kristen at David Weld's nature preserve". I love these pics, they came out so great! Here is the layout....

And lastly, of course out of all of the classes, the ONE that I wanted to take was the Basic Grey layout class....and just as I suspected it ended up being on Saturday morning, when I had work! Luckily I was able to sit in on it a little bit while at work (I viewed it on my phone). And afterwards, I was able to go back and follow along, creating this beauty.....

I love this layout!! It was made from this sketch....

Oh and here is the link to the thread for the Basic Grey Layout Class 2/21
And here is the link for the supplies!

So yea that is pretty much my weekend....it was my first crop too and i got about 350 points between random "sprinkles from the ACOT fairy" and winning a few little games here and there....fun stuff!

And I should mention that Stephen was incredibly helpful and supportive of my Scrapbooking obsession all weekend long...I will certainly make it up to him! <3

Productive Weekend!

Yippeeee!! I actually finished 2 layouts this weekend and I'm loving them!!!

This weekend was relaxing (at times). On Saturday, I went to see "He's Just Not that Into You" with Joanna (veryyyy cute movie) and afterwards her car died. But have no fear....Stephanie To The RESCUE!!! Yea, that's right, I saved her with my jumper cables AND my super human strength!! We MOVED her car....I know it's not hard at all.....just something about the whole experience made me feel like a hero! HaHaHa!! Anyway....to be honest I didnt even jump the car, some guy in the parking lot did, but STILL!! I saved the day! It felt nice! It was also good to just hang out and go see a movie. The rest of the day was great too I just hung around, did some scrapping and then Stephen came over when he got home from work!! Sunday was great too....I finished the "From My Love" layout, and Stephen helped me put it together. I spent most of the day at AC Moore....and then I messed around with the mod podge I bought for the rest of the afternoon! Yesterday, I didn't get too much accomplished, but it was a good day becuase we had Stephen's birthday bash at his house with his family....and it was cute becuase they all included me in on the festivities! HaHa!! Talk about a never-ending birthday! I recieved my ACOT February Envie order which was SUPER exciting!! My partner was soooo generous with all my goodies, I can't wait to us my "co'ordinations, chocolate box" paper! WooHoo....this is the stuff that excites me! LOL!

Valentines Day

Awwww Me and Stephen celebrated V-day a day early....he got me the most BEATIFUL gerbera daisies (my absolute favorite), and windshield wipers!! I know it sounds silly but I REALLY REALLY needed them!! I though it was great! He ALSO made me dinner! It was a suprise, he wouldn't tell me what he was making. It was deeeelish!! He made fetuccini alfredo with chicken, mushrooms and peas, and the best salad EVER.....it had mandarin oranges, strawberries, candied pecans, and blue chees crumbles with a raspberry vinaigrette!! Sooooo YUMMY....and I have leftovers that I get to eat tonight!!! Woohoo!!!! So this is the card that I made for him...I thought It came out pretty good especially considering it was my first attempt at making a card EVER!!

Time Flies

Wow....I can't believe I am finally at the point where I am at! Time really does fly, and not necessarily when you are having fun! So far there is 82 days left until graduation, which is roughly 2 months 3 weeks and 2 days....hahaha!! Iv'e got a job fair comming up in mid-march, in which I have applied for interviews with 4 different counties. Even though I'm really nervous, it is SOOOOO exciting! I am just shocked that I have made it to this point! This is it, I'm in it to win it! It really is scary though not knowing where I will be living in just a few short months. Who knows where I may end up. Stephen says that "everything will work out". He has applied to the same 4 counties for the job fair. Over the next few weeks we are going to be doing some research, and figuring out where we want to send more resumes off to. Right now we are thinking Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Out of those 3, I feel like the best bet is N.C.. Hmmmm, but I guess anything could happen at this point!

Lovely

I really feel like each layout comes out better than the last!!! I'm learning so much just from talking to everyone online and gethering inspiration from the galleries! There are so many talented ladies out there.....it only makes sense to pick up some of their techniques and skills! The goal is to be an accomplished scrapbooker by the time I have kids! (Which won't be for a while, so I have time to learn!)

Sheryl Crow

I spent the afternoon working on this yesterday! The yarn bow thingy looks a little weird becuase of the shadow, but i couldn't help that! Anyway I'm pretty happy with how it came out! I love the colors!! I cut the flowers out from a "yogi tea" box!! So crafty....I KNOW!!! :)

Sand Art

I wanted to post this layout because it is one of my favorites! First of all, I LOVE the pictures...they are from when me, my brother, and my two little cousins from Florida went to a nature preserve on the north shore of Long Island. The only word I can use to describe that day is "MaGiCaL"!! I also like how the colors go so well...at least I think they do! (*Also note the quilled flower embellie!!)

Simon Says

Okay so last night I did something a little bit random... I played Simon Says (scrapbooking version) online on SKYPE. It was definitely a last minute thing... I thought that even if it sucked at least I'd have an interesting story from it! Recently I signed up for this awesome skrapbooking website "Lets Scrap Divas". Actually it is more like a scrapbooking community...not your regular message board by any means! Anyway, the game was played with all different people from the website. I have to say it was A LOT of fun!! I met some really awesome people, and I produced a pretty nice layout by the end of the game. Since I didn't know there was a list of supplies that you needed beforehand, I was rushing at the last minute to get my paper, ribbons, and embellishments together. I absolutely trashed my room in the hour or so that I was playing the game but it was worth it. So obviously this is a pic of the layout that I made. I don't think it's too shabby for my first Simon Says challenge. We'll see what I come up with next time.

Quilling

I decided to give quilling a whirl....so far so good! Its pretty fun...I feel like i'll never get totally involved in it but just knowing the basics is pretty helpful. It is easier than i thought it would be, however the glue gets kinda messy and annoying. Oh well the results are pretty cute so I'd say it's worth it!

Hello!!!

Hi! Welcome to my blog! My name is Stephanie, I am 24 years old and currently live on Long Island. I am a grad student at LIU brentwood (CW Post) and I am graduating in May (91 days from now) with a Masters degree in school counseling. Sooooooo things have been CrAzY lately...between work, school, and interning! Thank goodness my wonderful loving boyfriend Stephen is also on the same career track as me....so even though I am extremely busy he understands EXACTLY what I'm going through and it helps a lot! So besides Stephen, the other thing in my life that calms me is Scrapbooking! I am quite new to this craft but I have been considering getting involved for a while! I sorta got into it accidentally...just bit by bit i started accumulating more and more crap and all of a sudden....POOOF im a scrapbooker! Anyway I love meeting other people in the scrapbook community and looking at other peoples work for ideas and inspiration! Unfortunately there is very little time that I have to engage in "scrap therapy" but believe me any chance I get I appreciate and I take full advantage of it! I love taking pictures and scrapbooking gives me a chance to preserve those memories in a beautiful way! When I graduate in May I will most likely be moving to wherever I get a job (me and Stephen) so I think by scrapping I will feel connected to family and friends who live far away from me! Well that's me in a nutshell....come back for more!
