Kaylin @ Bombshell Wife Life {Guest Post}

(Kay)-lin. NOT KAITlin. That's my name and I blog over at Bombshell Wife Life! I am so excited to be blogging for Stephanie today!

Have you ever had one of those meals that just stick with you? You know, the ones you think about YEARS later? The ones that the flavors are just forever imprinted on your tastebuds?! This my friends, is that meal for me! A few years ago my mom had a Pampered Chef party at our house. With all good Pampered Chef parties, a meal is made. And little did I know, this meal that was prepared would change my life! Okay i'm rambling, let's just get into it, shall we?!
Ingredients:
12 slices bacon, divided
4 cups (1 L) chicken broth
2 cans (14.5 oz each) Italian-style diced tomatoes
1 medium onion
4 garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
12 oz uncooked linguini pasta
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup loosely packed fresh parsley, divided
4 oz cream cheese
1 oz Parmesan cheese, grated
Halved grape tomatoes (optional)

Directions:
1. Slice bacon crosswise into 1/4-in. (6-mm) strips. Place into skillet; cook over medium-high heat 8-9 minutes or until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet; drain on paper towels. Drain Skillet, leaving 1 tbsp drippings in Skillet.
2. Meanwhile, place broth and diced tomatoes in large microwave safe bowl. Microwave, covered, on HIGH 6-8 minutes or until hot; carefully remove from microwave. On clean cutting board, finely chop onion using knife or food chopper. Return Skillet to heat; add garlic pressed with garlic press and pepper flakes, if desired. Cook 10-20 seconds or until fragrant. Add onion; cook 2-3 minutes or until onion is tender. Carefully add broth mixture, pasta, half of the bacon and salt. Simmer, covered, 9-10 minutes or until pasta is almost cooked but still firm, stirring occasionally.
3. Finely chop parsley using knife; reserve 1 tbsp for garnish. Cut cream cheese into cubes. Grate Parmesan cheese using grater. Cut grape tomatoes in half, if using. Remove Skillet from heat. Stir in remaining parsley, cream cheese and grape tomatoes, if desired. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes or until pasta is tender and sauce is thickened. Serve with remaining bacon, Parmesan cheese and reserved parsley.

Yield: 6 servings

This is the recipe from the Pampered Chef Website. This pasta dish is also an amazing leftover! It says 6 servings, but I think they were intending on feeding a small army with this batch size. ;) Let me know if any of you try this out! Have an amazing day! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of yours!

What's cooking this week?

Helloooo! I'm feeling well rested....the wonderful Hubs took care of Ella this morning and I slept in until 10 (with the extra hour it was really like 11)! Thankfully we were able to do that because I was up with her last night battling her to go back to sleep! She is still cranky now...on my lap...I'm once again typing this with one hand. Let's make this snappy!
Sunday: Sweet and Sour Chicken and Garlicky Green Beans
Monday: Pork Chops and Crock Pot Applesauce
Tuesday: Crock Pot Lentil Soup
Wednesday: Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Thursday: Honey Mustard Chicken and potatoes
Friday: Tacos!

I'm pretty sure we will be having a low-key day with Little Miss Cranky Pants. She just fell asleep on my lap. I hope she cheers up when she wakes up so we can take her TWO month picture....OMG where is the time going?!? Happy Two Months to my cute little squishy faced sweetie!
Do you love my leggings or what?!
Besides staring at my daughter's adorable peaceful face while she sleeps, I'm planning on making the applesauce for tomorrow's dinner so it will be smelling DELISH in here soon! Hubs and I are up to season 2 of Breaking Bad after cranking through the first season yesterday. I finally understand all the hype! I'm a little late, ohhhh well!

Happy Sunday!

Tiny Prints Rocks It Again!

After having such a wonderful experience with Tiny Prints for our Thank You cards I just knew we would be ordering birth announcements from them when it was time! I love trying out different designs and personalizing them online. It took me forever to choose which ones I wanted to order, their selection seems endless...one cute announcement after another! I wanted them all but eventually decided on this one...
We received them within a week of ordering them and were pleased yet again!
The announcements came out so stinkin' cute, we decided to also order our Baptism invitations as well.

The designs and patterns on the back are just too cute...I love me some polka dots!

With the holidays right around the corner, there is surely another order in the very near future for us...
Loving their holiday selection!

Halloween Recap in 5

Gooooood Morning!
Ella is doing some serious napping in her glider! I'm going to take advantage of this time and post a quick little recap of her first Halloween. We waited for Daddy to come home from work and then took our sweet little strawberry into town for a fun Halloween event that they had going on. There was a car show with "trunk or treating", carnival games and food, live music, marching bands, and a giant haunted tent. It was packed!

1. No, I can't even handle the cuteness! I love that she is so happy AND that we captured this photo with open eyes. After we left the house she basically slept the entire time. Ahhhh, I just love her little face!
2. My little snoozeberry! This is one relaxed kid. It cracks me up because she screams when we put her in the car seat, but she often takes the best naps in there!
3. Awwww! Our first holiday as a family of three!!!
4. These guys were SO creepy! I was thinking if she woke up at this moment, she may have been scarred for life! Thankfully that didn't happen!
5. Mommy and Daddy had a nice dinner at World of Beer...grown up time is JUST what we needed. It was a gorgeous night. We sat outside sipping pumpkin beer and watched as people walked by in their costumes. Of course our little berry got a ton of attention. What a wonderful night it was!

I hope you all had a great Halloween, and have a Happy Friday! XO
